I Climb for Her is a one-week single mom-only camp held at Camp Elim in Woodland Park, CO, located in the heart of Pike National Forest. Our week together will include a day trip to the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, a hike through an aspen grove to an overlook of Pikes Peak, relaxation in hammocks, conversations by a mountain lake, quiet spaces to reflect, a bonfire, meals around a shared table, and a climb to the top of Pikes Peak.

ABOUT:

This camp is designed to expand our relationship with God by engaging in biblical texts that bring God's character alive through the imagery of the mountains. During our week, we will consider the steps needed to reach the top of the mountain and how climbing the physical mountain symbolizes the climb we take to overcome our personal barriers. Each woman will be challenged to take the burdens they are carrying, look to the mountain, and consider where our help comes from. We will engage in readings and reflection activities through pre-work prior to camp and during teaching sessions at camp.

Together, we will commit to an individual light physical training plan in the six months leading up to the hike, three mandatory pre-camp meetings (TBA), and to the code of conduct. By applying for this camp, you agree to the pre-training, travel schedule, transportation, lodging, food choices, day trips, and activities assigned by Single MOMM. You also agree to climb the mountain under the guidance of a Single MOMM guide, stay together with your assigned group during the climb, and disclose any medical or mental health concerns before attending camp you believe may affect your ability to climb, and submit to a health check at base camp (oxygen level check, altitude sickness assessment, and sprains/joints/muscle check). If, during the health check, it is determined by our health volunteer that it is unsafe for you to continue to climb, you must return to the base of the mountain with a Single MOMM guide. If time and weather permit, you may have the option after descending the mountain to take the COG to the top. If, for any reason, you need to be medically evacuated from the mountain, the cost will be your responsibility. When applying for this camp, you agree that you may not be able to reach the top of Pikes Peak. The I Climb for Her experience is intended to focus on you climbing the mountain you are able to while encouraging each woman also climbing to climb their mountain.

COST:

At Single MOMM we work to provide our mentorship, classes, courses, and events free of charge. Our camp experiences carry a cost to each individual attending. The value of the I Climb for Her camp is $1400/person. Through generous donors, we are able to offer this camp for $700 (train travel) or $800 (plane travel). This cost includes travel, transportation, lodging, food (minus food during train or plane travel), climbing guides, and COG ticket for a ride down from Pikes Peak. You will be responsible for paying for any additional items needed or desired for the trip. Appropriate climbing clothes/shoes/boots are required.
